Tuesday Morning Rambly Bits

-- Yesterday and today we've been having what feels more like mid-September weather than mid-August weather (mornings in the mid- to high 50s, afternoons in the 70s). Not complaining in any way. Just remarking. I'll bet it's going back into the mid-80s soon. That's just the way of things here in Boston.

-- mabfan and I have been watching "Burn Notice." Highly recommended.

-- For those of you who may (like me) be fond of Jewish a cappella music, I recommend BOJAC, the Best of Jewish A Cappella.

-- I've finished the primary knitting on my big small knitting project and now need more little bits to knit on the T. I have an unfinished pair of socks I may pick up again, but I'm on the fence. Thinking, thinking.

-- My handheld has randomly decided not to beep at me for alarms anymore. This is annoying.

-- And while I'm randomly whinging, I'll mention the fact that my right foot has hurt on and off since Thursday, for no apparent reason. And the pain is migratory, which makes it even more annoying.

-- Today is my day of many meetings. I don't have these very often (she says thankfully). So if you're used to finding me during the day and I'm not around, it's probably because I'm in a meeting.

What do you like about burn notice?
I watched the first few episodes and gave up on it, so I'm trying to establish whether it just took a while to get its feet, or whether our tastes differ.

It's definitely gotten stronger since the first eps. I like the slow build of how Michael deals with his new reality, how he's hunting for answers while being stuck working jobs he's not sure he wants. I like Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Campbell, and Sharon Gless as the supporting characters.

And I've heard casting spoilers that I'm interested to see how they integrate. :-)

Richie and I stumbled upon Burn Notice one evening. we really enjoyed it, but have been unable to watch it with any consistency. There's always repeats....

Repeats are my friend. Also, USA sometimes makes its shows available through its website (if you're willing to watch ads for things beforehand), I believe.

And they've been picked up for a 13-episode second season, so I'm pleased by that.
