Turn Around Bright Eyes

Tonight, from 22:19 to 22:26, mabfan and I went out into the -2 degree C weather to look at the total eclipse of the heartmoon.

This is the best of the bunch of photos I took with my little digital camera. Click to zoom in; you can see the moon pretty well.

And then we came inside, because we are fond of our toes.

You know, we just dragged the two big kids out of bed to see the eclipse. To say they were unimpressed is putting it mildly. It's cold. But I was wondering whether I could capture it on our camera and show them in the morning. Apparently we could have. Or I could just show them your photos.

Pretty! I wish I'd had my camera with me. I can't kick myself too much, though. (aside from already being injured) because I didn't know about it 'till I listened to NPR on my way to a friend's house.

It was more like -2 *F* here, with wind chill on top.

Made the sky quite crisp and clear, but as I'm a bit sick at the mo', I wasn't enjoying the cold one bit, so only had a short peek at totality and left it at that. Pretty though. (Not that I haven't seen these before, of course. Saw my first when I was two or three years old, and several since.)
