So, today is Pi Day (3.14). But this leads me to wonder:

-- Why don't we celebrate Fibonacci Day on 11/23? I'm sure Thespis would be willing to share.

-- How about e Day on 2/7?

-- We could pick a day (how about in the spring?) to celebrate √2 (on which [personal profile] mabfan and I could go out and visit [profile] lcmlc and Abba by driving through Cambridge, Arlington, and Lexington).

Pi day, e day, √2 day ... such irrational holidays.

It's somewhat radical of her to make such a suggestion.

Only if we can have i day. It's just never actually here. It could theoretically get here, but it never actually is.

You have to rotate your calendar 90 degrees.

If you can figure out desserts to go with those other holidays, then I will celebrate them.

We were having this conversation at work today while we were scarfing down pies. Alas none of the other potential math holidays are food themed. Also, we need to to do something realy special for pie day in 2015
