Back, Exhausted, Behind Like Whoa
Jun. 11th, 2008 09:58 amSo, I'm back from being offline since Sunday. I'm not going to be able to catch up, so please let me know here if there's anything I should take a look at.
The holiday was good, if hot. Very hot. Like, 95+ degrees (F) hot. I spent large quantities of yesterday morning in the shul kitchen helping set up for the Shavuot luncheon. The other days, I spent large quantities of time in our bedroom, where the AC was on. We had lovely guests for one meal, were guests for one meal, and attended the aforementioned shul luncheon.
Until I got on the bus this morning, I hadn't knit since Sunday afternoon, and my fingers felt oddly fumbly when I started again.
Uh... what else? On Shabbat,
mabfan and I went for a walk and I got a lovely sunburn on my back. Note to self: pick up spray-on sunscreen before next Shabbat.
My d'var Torah was well received, and for a bit thereafter the rabbi ran with my verb of "to elevate." I was amused.
All the food that I made on Sunday came out well (
introverte, thank you again for the cheese kugel recipe you gave me *ages* ago. It was quite yummy). As always, the cheesy veggies were a big hit (thanks, Bill!). And the chocolate cheese pie always comes out well (thanks,
scarlettina!).

Glad your holiday was nice! Sorry to hear about the sunburn, towels dipped in tea draped on the affected areas will take the sting out.

Date: 2008-06-11 02:49 pm (UTC)And thanks for the tip; I wouldn't have thought of that. Cold tea, I'm presuming.

Date: 2008-06-11 02:52 pm (UTC)And yeah -- it's a sure sign it's been hot when 80 seems like a relative cold snap.
My fingers remembered, but they were a bit squirrely about the tiny sock needles at first.

Date: 2008-06-12 11:34 am (UTC)It's a bit less humid so far today, but it's still early. I'm drinking lots and lots of water, and that seems to be helping.

Date: 2008-06-12 11:35 am (UTC)I'm staying inside as much as feasible, though I may go out for a walk later on. I just don't want to get dehydrated, which is extremely easy in this weather.
