This morning's Boston Globe gave a mostly favorable review to the production of Macbeth to which mabfan, farwing and I went to on Tuesday night.

I still say that the following letter must be sent to the title character:

Dear Mr. Macbeth,

On your way home from fighting the Norwegians, do not listen to the Weird Sisters. Further, do not listen to your wife's crazy ideas. You, Duncan, and the rest of Scotland will be happier for it.

Also keep in mind that James I, the then-newly crowned king of the United Kindgom, was descended from Malcolm. Thus Macbeth had to be a bay guy. Shakespeare was known for writing history with an eye towards keeping the monarchs happy.
