I present Things that Make Me Happy Today:

-- The existence of a sewing kit in my desk drawer at work to resew the button that came off my rain coat this morning
-- The rain seems to be letting up, at least for a bit
-- [personal profile] mabfan's Town Meeting win yesterday
-- Progress made yesterday on a knitting project
-- Discovering that Boston fans are not the weirdest fans in the US (thanks to a friend's locked post for the link)
-- Dinner that is already made
-- Long-standing friends with mazal-tov-worthy news

So... What makes *you* happy today?

My cube wall covered with multicolored kirigami cutouts from my page-a-day calendar.

Having multigrain Cheerios to munch on.

My cousin's upcoming wedding.

Edited to add: and now, the fact that Wikipedia provides detailed instructions for proper preparation of an octopus in order to throw it on the ice.

Well the work cafe is serving comfort food. Grilled Cheese Sandwiches to be precise. They aren't my comfort food but its making me happy anyway.

If your "long standing friends" news is the same as what I know, I'm thrilled for them, too. Also, Maine.

One nerve-wracking thing happening later this afternoon, so I'll be happier once it's over, I hope.

No dropoff. No pickup. No meltdowns. No complaints about pasta & beans for dinner. No "activist judges" to blame for Maine (yaay!). Oh, and no shoes on my feet in the cool damp sandbox.

This has made me very happy today. Lady Ada as a comic book hero.
