Oh, sure, you turn hagbah into a link but what about those of us who don't know what Teal'c is or what Daniel has to do with him/her/it? (I assume you're referencing a fictional character with the same name.)

When I used to work in Manhattan, I would often encounter J4Js in the subway giving out their literature. I daydreamed about editing a short video from Stargate excerpts featuring all the variations they did on
"False god. DEAD false god."

My LOR told me non-Jews aren't allowed to do hagbah. Any sources to the contrary would be appreciated.

While there is no canon to suggest Stargate's Jackson has any Jewish dna, he did often come across as a Woody Allen type of character. His "you must talk to the giiiiiaaaaannt aliens" grandfather could also pass as the cliche'd German/Polish/Russian Jewish immigrant who still reverts to Yiddish when under stress. According to Wikipedia the actor who played him Jan Rubeš (6 June 1920 – 29 June 2009) was born in Czechoslovakia.

What, you didn't know the Jaffa are Jewish? They're one of the Lost Tribes.

Well, some in Jaffa are Jewish, but many are non-Jewish Arabs.

So I have some halachic questions. As we know, the sha'ar can be held open for 38 minutes. If I'm tight on time, can I open it a minute before lighting candles and pop through half an hour later? Is it affected by local sunset? (What if there is more than one sun, or none at all?)

Have I travelled more than 2000 amot from my dwelling-place if I only took ten steps?

Let us take for granted that I am not carrying anything because no eiruv in the world(s) is that big.
