In today's The Brookline Parent column, I discuss the length of the girls' hair and the decision -- driven by Squeaker -- to give them haircuts. Click to read Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow.
I love that it was their own idea, and not foisted on them. My first haircut other than bangs was after my fourth birthday, done in my kitchen by my aunt who was a hair stylist, but it still freaked me out. Whether that's because I thought I was getting a burr like my brother, or just because it was a new experience, who knows; I fear change.
It's funny how people say these things - H's hair never fell out either (though it did get lighter). I hope the girls will be happy with their new haircuts. (Looks cute in the picture!) We've been cutting H's hair about every 2 months since he turned 1 (grows really fast), except for one ringlet that we can't bear to cut b/c it's so cute... but I think we'll have to soon, it's starting to get in his way.
