Considering wireless printers. There seem to be a number of available options from good brands (Canon, HP, Epson, Brother, Lexmark) at under $100. Anyone have recommendations or, alternatively, anti-recommendations? We need one that's compatible with Apple products (not just the laptops but also iPad and iPhone).

(also asked on Sefer HaPanim*, so if you answered there, ignore this.)

Ask Jean what she is using, it is compatible with ALL that stuff. Send her an email.

I would like to recommend against _all_ inkjets[1] and for Brother laser printers - I'm not sure whether their entry-level wireless-equipped laser printer is under $100 but I am pretty sure it's not a great deal more and in the long run the cost of consumables is very much lower since toner doesn't dry out and become useless over time like inkjet ink does. I believe their laser printers all support PostScript and are therefore compatible with essentially everything.

[1] The possible exception being if you absolutely must print in color, particularly "photographic" color, in which case you may have to suck it up and live with the foibles and expensive consumables of an inkjet.

I have a printer/scanner Kodak ESP 7250 that works wirelessly with my mac. It doesn't do EVERYTHING wirelessly, though. If I want to use the scanner, I need to dig out a USB cable. Their ink is reasonably priced compared to other major brands.

I notice the software is very different for the PC and the Mac, so sometimes I hook up my PC laptop if I need finer control over scanning. (I know you're talking about using it as a printer, though. I haven't printed much from the PC.)

Usually when I have a wireless problem it's operator error--I've forgotten to turn on my Airport.

I second the warning about Brother laser printers. My old job had a bunch of them and after a couple years all the drums went bad, and for the replacement cost, we might as well by entirely new printers. What a waste.
