Want to know how to get out of computer-driven menu mazes and talk to an actual human being when you're calling a company? Dial A Human has a comprehensive list. It can be displayed alphabetically or by category. And they accept submissions of new methods to reach a real person, as well.

The MBTA has a page where riders can report system delays of 1/2 hour or more and get their fare refunded. I have used this service a number of times and have consistently received tokens back in the mail.
