Tonight, [personal profile] mabfan and I delivered the penguin blanket to the family for whom it was knit.

And so, pictures.

I'm impressed with all your blankets. I don't have the patience for all that simplicity. :-)

Ack! Simplicity which in no way takes away from the beauty and accomplishment of the final product. (Runs off in search of caffeine to clear away the brain-cobwebs)

Caffeine is always good. Though if one drinks too much, one gets the shakes, and then it makes it harder to knit.

I like alternating simplicity and complexity. The fiddly bits of the TARDIS and the Dalek are offset by projects like this and the ducky sets and all.

I agree with that principle. I like to have a "zen" knitting project going, that I can work on without thought, and a more complex one when I want to feel challenged.

Yup. I take the less-fiddly ones on the T, because I (a) don't want to get caught up in a complex pattern and miss my stop or (b) don't want to have to keep checking pattern notes while I'm on the train. Right now, for example, my traveling knitting project is a simple rolled-brim hat (http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/hatrollbrim.htm).
