1. Where did my chapstick get itself to?

2. Why is there a can of ginger ale in my bottom desk drawer?

3. Where's my chapstick? Eh?

4. Why do my emery boards hide? Did they run away with the chapstick?

5. Will I remember that I have spare chapstick at home, or will I, goofy one that I am, buy more in a fit of Where the heck is my chapstick?

ETA: Thanks to [profile] seborn and her Magic Cookies of Location, I have now found my chapstick. I am a much happier [personal profile] gnomi now. And I've had a cookie, too! :-)

ETA2: Thanks to [personal profile] mabfan, who located the chapsticks that were lurking at home.

I stole your chapstick. And your emery boards. I needed more things for my nomi shrine.

(Okay...um...I'm really not a creepy stalker. I'm a bouncy fun hyper stalker. Yes.)

Sounds like the sort of things a bouncy fun hyper stalker might be trying to collect for a voodoo ritual.

Good point. Should I now fear the evil deeds of the [personal profile] farwing?

Eh, you probably needed to replace the chapstick that our sofa stole, so that wouldn't bother me. :-)

I want to build a nomi shrine! How do I start?

Don't you already have one built-in at home?

We have the nomi part all set. The shrine part, not so much.

I'm often at the end of my rope when I can't find my Chapstick. I understand your obsessiveness in this matter.

It's comforting to know it's not just me. This kind of "where is it, darnit" single-mindedness doesn't usually happen to me for things that I can easily and cheaply replace. But the chapstick pushes that button.

You too? I never can find a chapstick when I want one. And I have about six kinds, all of which instantly teleport to other locations when I go looking for one in my bag.

Magic teleporting chapstick! That's the answer!

I guess the chapstick and socks in the dryer are in cahoots.

I can never remember - were you an "Eerie, Indiana" watcher? 'Cause now I'm thinking of the Eerie Bureau of Lost, which was reached by crawling through the dryers at the laundramat (following the lost socks, natch).

I was never an "Eerie, IN" watcher. But, y'know, I can always appreciate people crawling through dryers. :-)

Aren't you going to edit this to add that I found your chapstick?

And so I have. :-)

Do you use chapsticks when you're eating Chonese food?

Hee! :-)

After years of continually losing chapsticks, I've come up with this solution. One stays in my backpack and is what I use when I'm not at home. One stays next to my bed. One stays on my dresser. I haven't lost one yet since I've been doing this. The "out" one lives in my pockets sometimes, but gets returned to my backpack at least when I get back home.

Before Pesach, all was fine - I had one in my backpack and one in my desk drawer at work. Then, when I corralled all my chametz, they got out of their typical locations. And I don't use chapstick much over the summer, so I didn't notice they'd gone missing until yesterday.

So now there's one in my desk drawer again, and one back in my backpack, and all is right in the world (well, at least when it comes to chapstick).

I hope the chapstick wasn't in the ginger ale... :-)

Nope. It was hiding, stealthily, behind my tape dispenser. And I finally found it by spotting its reflection in the front of my pencil sharpener (which was also behind the tape dispenser but is much larger than the chapstick).
