Back Yard Birdie Theater

On Sunday, when mabfan was at Odyssey, I was out in Burlington (MA) visiting my parents. One of the joys of where they live is the abundance of random wildlife (bunnies, groundhogs, squirrels, and many, many, many birds) that comes through the back yard. And since lcmlc started putting bird feeders on the back porch, the birds (and occasional others) come up really close to the house. I've taken to calling the show "Back Yard Birdie Theater." And on Sunday, I took a bunch of photos. Here are some of my favorites:( This Way to the Birdies (and friends) )

Burblings in the Musical Part of my Brain

Sometimes my mind gets caught up analyzing lyrics and the like. For instance, a couple of days ago I started to wonder how many songs on my iPod have "together" in the lyrics ("We Go Together," from the "Grease" soundtrack; "And we will all go down together" from Billy Joel's "Goodnight Saigon," etc.). And this morning, what burbled to the top was the question of how many iterations of the lyrics "Here I am..." I could think of.

Off the top of my head I came up with the following after "Here I am":

-- "Rock you like a hurricane"

-- "The one that you love"

-- "On the road again"

(then part of me thought this should be the narf question in some upcoming poll: "'Here I am': 'rock you like a hurricane,' 'the one that you love,' 'on the road again,' 'narf.'")

Any others I'm not thinking of? I'm sure there are; feel free to add 'em in comments.

An Ask Nomi Question for the Frum and Fashionable

A friend of lcmlc has a wedding to go to and needs a dress that is tzniusdik (conforming to Jewish modesty standards) as well as fancy. What do I know? I make my own for stuff like that. So I turn to y'all... where (in the Boston area or national chains) would you suggest she shop?
